Interested in seeing what sailing is all about? Looking for an opportunity to come aboard for a couple of hours without the commitment of boat ownership? Try PCC's US Sailing First Sail Experience! First Sail, designed by US Sailing, is on-the-water sailing adventure for newcomers. You will join one of our knowledgeable volunteer skippers on their boat for a mini sailing lesson.
Cost
The nominal fee of $35 per person for a 2-hour sail can be applied toward your membership dues for this year, should you choose to become a Member of Pymatuning Century Club. Kids 12 and under sail free of charge!
What's included
This will be a semi-private sailing seminar on one of our private keelboats, ranging from 18-25 feet in length. Most of our boats will accept up to 4 guests, but you can request your experience to be private. Life jackets are required for all participants – and although we will do our best to accommodate each guest, we strongly encourage you to bring your own, if you have one. Additionally, each participant will receive access to Basic Keelboat Online - a US Sailing online training course designed to prepare beginners for their first time on the water.
What to bring
Being well prepared is crucial to a successful sailing experience. Life jackets are a must. For your safety and comfort we also recommend: rubber-soled shoes that cover your toes, water bottle, layers of weather-appropriate clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.
How do I sign up?
Please email our First Sail coordinator, Lidia Gray, to sign up. We will match date and time that suits you best with an available skipper. Hope to see you on the water!
